Micro quartz cuvettes with black walls, 2mm inner width are for use with sample volumes smaller than the usual standard rectangular but with the same 10mm pathlength.
They reason why use black walls is just want to incresing the light's energy and improve its sensitivity. It has an open mouth at the top of the cuvette body.
It's volume is just about 20% of the same rectangular cuvettes, with 10mm pathlength or different according to your choices.
